The Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce is hosting an Economic Development Update Luncheon on Wednesday, January 31 at the Hartsville Country Club. Lunch will be available at 11:30 with the program beginning at 12:15.

Darlington County Economic Development Director Frank Willis will be presenting information on recent developments in the county while Ronald Carter of the North Eastern Strategic Alliance will delivering an update on activity in the Pee Dee region. The keynote speaker for the event is Mandy Brawley, Deputy Director for Global Business Development at the S.C. Department of Commerce.

“Rural communities like ours have only two choices for the future - grow or decline. Our members fully understand the importance of economic development to the growth and well-being of our local business community. This event provides us with a rare opportunity to hear about the latest plans and activities for our county, region and state from experts in the field.

We look forward to an informative and exciting session,” stated Curtis Lee, Hartsville Chamber’s Economic Development and Public Policy chairperson. The luncheon is sponsored by Carolina Bank, Duke Energy, Embrace Hospice, Raceway Ford Chevrolet, Rehab Center at Morrell, and Startsville.
