Hartsville First Church of the Nazarene announces new pastor

Hartsville First Church of the Nazarene is excited to announce that Pastor Michael Smith has accepted the position of lead pastor of the church.

With a career in ministry spanning over twelve years, Michael Smith has held a variety of positions that have prepared and equipped him to serve as the new lead pastor of Hartsville First Church of the Nazarene. He is a graduate of Ohio Christian University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Leadership and Ministry.

Michael has served as a Student and Families Pastor, as well as an Interim Pastor, primarily in West Virginia. Michael and his wife, Santana, have been married for eleven years. Santana loves all things education and is looking forward to working for Darlington County School District in the fall. God has entrusted them with three boys; Landon (six years old), Parker (four years old), and Cooper (two years old).

The Smiths love being outside playing with their boys, building relationships, and both have a strong desire to see people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ! They feel that HFCN is the perfect place for them because the church’s mission statement, “Loving God and Loving Others”, really resonates with them. They are very excited to become a piece of the Hartsville community puzzle and look forward to beginning a new journey in a lovely town.

Michael is passionate about preaching God’s Word in ways that are relevant and engaging. Some of his hobbies include golf, fishing, and reading…and he is hoping to take up kayaking in the nearby lakes of Hartsville.
