The agony of “de-feet”

Isaiah 52:7, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "”Your God reigns!” When I think of feet, I think of those funny looking body parts that are attached to my ankles that can sometimes be smelly and jacked-up. Some people’s feet can be so ugly that it hurts your feelings when you look at them…mine are included I must say.

Anyway, feet have been given the assignment of carrying weight. There are so many commercials on television talking about products that are designed to relieve our tired feet, from home foot massagers to shoe inserts the list goes on. Our feet take on a lot of abuse from day to day and from time to time, it shows.

At the end of a long day, your feet can sometimes bare agonizing pain and discomfort all because they are carrying out their God-given duty. They are only doing what they were “called” to do by God, yet there are times when the pain of carrying out their duties can be unbearable. We have to understand that even in life; those of us who want to carry out the call of God on our lives must also from time to time endure painful situations, but it’s ok because it is also a part of our assignments.

This particular scripture declares that certain types of feet are indeed beautiful. The question is, “whose feet”? The answer is, those who bring good news, proclaim peace, good tidings and proclaim salvation, not to mention those who say to Zion, “Your God reigns. That’s you….yeah you, the believer. If your desire is to carry out what I just mentioned, then you have beautiful feet.

Not so much beautiful in the natural, but spiritually because you have been walking in the footsteps that have been ordered by God (Ps. 37:23). The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Obedience is so much better than sacrifice. Be led by His spirit and you will never go wrong….even if it hurts sometimes and feels uncomfortable. Your feet are still beautiful. Until next time…. © 10/9/15
